HAWP returns to Ontario this summer as part of the 2011 Goderich Celtic Roots Festival.
The lyricism and beauty of the Nova Scotia-based ensemble HAWP returns to Ontario to take the stage at the 2011 Goderich Celtic Roots festival. They will join an impressive line-up of top flight domestic and international aritsts to provide festival goers with round-the-clock excitement, music, arts and celebration of Celtic culture.
HAWP features Andy Webster (guitar, vocals), Niamh Webster (piano, vocals, dance), Jason Pfeiffer (flute, whistle, bodhran) and Anne Lederman (fiddle). They will be performing selections from their debut recording, Storm & Calm, which was nominated "Best Traditional/Roots Recording of the Year" by the 2010 Nova Scotia Music Awards.
The Goderich Celtic Roots Festival is one of the mainstays of the Ontario folk & Celtic music festival circuit and it attracts thousands of fans every summer. Known for its world-class artist rosters, the Festival boasts a veritable "who's who" of Celtic musicians and artisans. The Festival also presents the annual Celtic College, where students have the opportunity to study with many of the artists during a week of intensive, exciting classes.
